About me
My main areas of expertise are law, journalism, cinema, art & history (both ancient and modern), and food & drink. Being married to a lawyer I have immediate access to specialist legal knowledge, and as a teacher of Legal English at the University of Messina I have to keep abreast of changes in the language of the law. Apart from being a translator, I also teach English Language, Literature and Translation at the University of Messina. I have a solid grounding in translation theory and extensive experience in training and assessing translators. I use Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Acrobat and MemoQ. Law
Extensive experience in the translation of legal texts for major international clients, particularly in the fields of contract law and litigation. Lecturer in Legal English at the Messina University Department of Law. Papers published on legal translation and the development of legal English.
Art, Ancient History and Archaeology
Translations of works on the art of Florence and Venice and on Rome's Galleria Borghese, published with major Italian publisher Treccani. Other major clients include the Sicilian Regional Heritage Department (works on archaeological sites in Sicily; various publishers), and Messina University (academic works in the fields of archaeology, ancient history and classical numismatics).
Food & Wine
One of the team of translators for Gambero Rosso's Italian Wines (2009-2015). Other clients include Amaro Lucano and various wineries in Sicily, Veneto producer Masi and Tenimenti Civa in Friuli. Journalism & Cinema
